"Subaru Sherman Oaks, where everybody knows MY name!"
before I moved out of state 9 months ago and always was extremely impressed with the service I received here. When I came back for some unexpected business I realized that I was due for an oil change. I called the service department and explained my dilemma- they told me to be there at 2 p.m., no problem....(they had no idea I was a returning customer). When I walked in Peter called me by name and asked me how Tahoe was. After 9 months, he still knew my name!! He wrote up my service for an oil change and tire rotation and said it would be about 1 1/2 hours- no big deal for a 'drop in' as far as I was concerned! While I was waiting in the showroom, Michael, one of the salesmen also came up and called me by name and said "I thought that was you, but didn't you move?" You have to understand, I never bought a car from him, only 'talked' about Subaru's when I was in for service- yet he remembered my name, too! (something I wish my dealer in Carson City did as part of their service) Not only have I always gotten fantastic service on my Subaru at this dealership, I have always been treated with friendly and respectful/honest service. (I feel like I'm at 'CHEERS' - where everyone knows your name!) Their prices are fair, the mechanics are awesome and the service department employees are fantastic...never felt pressure to buy from the sales department (Unfortunately, we weren't living in CA when we bought our 2011 Outback, otherwise Michael would have been our guy...) I really miss everything about Sherman Oaks Subaru. I have been to many dealers across the country (bought 2009 Forester new- put 33000+ miles on it in less than 2 years; 2011 Outback 14000+ miles in 6 months= lots of oil changes!) and this dealership is hands down THE BEST! I'll be back every time I'm in CA!

I don't often bother writing reviews but Subaru of Sherman Oaks was so good to me that I want to take the time to write this very positive review. I bought a Subaru Outback last night and the whole experience at this dealership was fantastic. Jason and Helen were extremely helpful and I really felt like I was hanging out with a couple of friends rather than buying a car from a dealership. These guys rock. That's all there is to it. Even the finance guy was a pleasure to do business with! If you're in the market to buy a car, go here. I went to the Santa Monica dealership as well and that felt like, well, a dealership. Go to Sherman Oaks. If you live on the Westside, just get the hell over the hill and deal with a little traffic. It's worth it. Thank you Subaru of Sherman Oaks! :-)

"Logan is the Coolest!"
Reviewing our SALES experience here - not service. If you are in the market for a new Subaru, shop around for sure, but definitely check out this place.
The vibe is different than at other dealerships - more "family owned," less sharklike. Logan, our sales guy, was more fair and forthright and just plain cooler than other car salesmen we encountered. I recommend him. He was patient with our questions and not afraid to tell us both pros and cons about the vehicle, options, etc. (Note to other car sales people - truthfulness works!)
I will update this review to share our experience with the service side of the dealership. But for now, very happy with Logan - and psyched with our new Subaru!

"I'll only let Daryl work on my Subie"
The reason I take my car here is because of the head mechanic. As far as I know, Daryl Henzlik is the only person in the greater LA basin to be certified by Subaru as a "Senior Master Technician". He has been servicing Subarus for over 25 years, and after talking with him, it turns out he probably worked on my car when I was taking it to the Culver City location years ago. My car just rolled over 200K miles, and with their good care, I sincerely hope I will be one of those Subaru owners who can say their car went over 300K.
